What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the skin to relieve pain or stress. These points are known as acupoints, and they are connected to the body’s meridian channels. Stimulating these points can help to improve the flow of energy throughout the body and promote healing.

The practice is said to date back to ancient China, and it is still used today by millions of people around the world. There is  evidence that acupuncture can help release endorphins and other neurotransmitters that  help to reduce pain.

Acupuncture and Manual Immune Modulation

Manual Immune Modulation refers to the process of getting rid of harmful pathogens in our bodies to enhance our well-being and facilitate healing. These pathogens can include harmful bacteria, viruses, mold, and fungus, some of which occur naturally in our bodies, while others are present in our environment and can be passed from person to person.

A strong immune system can regulate these pathogens and keep them in check, maintaining healthy gut flora and keeping candida levels under control. However, certain Western practices such as overuse of antibiotics, chronic stress, or poor dietary choices can compromise our immune system’s functioning, allowing these pathogens to grow unchecked, leading to various health issues.

This creates a physical and energetic noise that interferes with the body’s healing process, making it difficult to absorb nutrients and supplements, leading to a decline in vitality and overall health. Symptoms can manifest differently in different individuals based on their personal susceptibility and genetic predisposition.

The aim of Manual Immune Modulation is to remove this noise and eliminate the disturbances that are hindering optimal health and vitality. This allows for better absorption of nutrients and enhanced effectiveness of existing protocols, with the endocrine system functioning properly. Manual Immune Modulation is often used as the primary treatment in Acupuncture and Transformative Healing sessions due to its powerful effects.

Moxa

Moxibustion is a technique used in traditional medicine that involves warming mugwort, known as “moxa,” and applying it to acupressure points on the body’s energy meridians. This process helps to remove blocks that prevent the flow of chi, or vital energy, allowing it to flow more fully. Moxibustion is used alongside acupuncture needles to provide gentle and nourishing treatment that brings vitality to the area it is applied to. The burning of the herb provides medicinal benefits that increase circulation, boost the immune system, and promote healing.

The Japanese character for Acupuncture is made up of two characters, one meaning “needle” or “pin,” and the other meaning “moxibustion,” emphasizing the importance of this technique in an acupuncture treatment.

Moxibustion is a specialized skill that requires extensive training to master. Alexis has spent years perfecting her technique so that she can offer this essential component of acupuncture treatment to those seeking it.
